Professor Dr. François Chaudet is an Emeritus Professor of University of Lausanne Law School. He completed his legal studies in 1968 and obtained a doctorate of Law in 1972. He is currently the initial founding partner at CBWM & Partners (now “Associates”), a leading business law firm in the Lake Geneva area.
In 1974 he was admitted to the Bar. He acquired much of his early training in capital goods projects abroad (dealing with e.g., mechanical plans, factories pipelines), where he monitored legal contracts on behalf of European companies. Based on this experience, he developed an expertise regarding the design and implementation of a large market from (i.a.,) the pre-qualification phase to final acceptance.
Prof. Dr. Chaudet is also involved in international arbitration, where he has developed an original management concept for large contracts, which has the goal of preventing litigation. He has worked for the arbitral tribunal as counsel, arbitrator, sole arbitrator and/or chairman in the field of domestic or international arbitration. In addition to his work as a lawyer and arbitrator, Prof. Dr. Chaudet is active on the board of several companies as director or chairman.
