Christian Laux is an attorney-at-law and was admitted to practice in Switzerland in 2004. In his daily work he focuses on matters of IT law. He has extensive experience with technology-related and e-commerce issues.
Christian Laux completed his legal studies at the Universities of Zurich, Paris and Stanford (CA) and received a doctorate in law in 2002 from the University of Zurich. From 2008 to 2009 he was an in-house counsel with a global data broker company before he became an independent attorney-at-law.
Christian Laux participated in a research project at the Cyberlaw Clinic at Stanford University. The aim of the project was to automate the creation of standard privacy policies. Between 2003 and 2008 he was a project leader at «Creative Commons in Switzerland». Furthermore, Christian Laux is a founding member of «Openlaw», a platform for law and free software. As a lawyer, Christian Laux combines his experience both as inside counsel and as independent attorney with his passion for technology. He advises clients on all aspects of IT law: contract formation, outsourcing projects and cloud computing, electronic archiving, legal screening of business processes and open source compliance matters.
Christian Laux gives regular presentations on current topics of his work and occasionally publishes articles; the articles cover IT- and IP-related topics.
